ABSTRACT:
Shampoos were used all over globe from ancient times for hair wash. These shampoos not only cleanse the hairs but also strengthen the hair act as anti-dandruff (antifungal) aliment. As the chemically derived shampoos not only show harmful effects on scalp skin also not cost benefited for large scale population. Medicinal plant products were used in Indian and Chinese healthcare system from ancient times. Their low side effects and cost convenient property make them easy alternate for hair care systems. Plant extract of amla, reetha, hibiscus, brahmi, aloevera tulsi, moringa and Murraya koenigii leaves were used to preparation of herbal shampoo. Their cleansing potentials was estimated using standard procedure of organoleptic, physicochemical, wetting time test, pH dirt dispersion conditioning performance, foam volume stability visual assessment and visual assessment.
